I was born in Ireland in 1959 but have lived all my life in the UK.
In the 1980s I spent time entertainment business as a dancer, singer and mime. I live in London where I continue to create and be inspired by the landscape and ancient tales of other worlds, which is a main theme of my work.
In recent years i have been diagnosed with a personality disorder which I try and manage on a day to day basis. I have always tried as an artist to be true to my form and style, changing when and only when i felt that it was time to experiment and try a different media.
I'm inspired by the Indigenous artists and shamanic art of Latin America and African art in general as well as Ancient Celtic knot work, the mystical and unseen appeal to me.
The Biro has been my choice of medium and it has been an amazing journey. Now im using colored felt tip pens and colored pencils as well as the biro.
In my childhood I lived behind the Tate Modern here in London UK and used to sit and draw, to this day I still visit the Tate for inspiration. Drawing is so relaxing and I really love the journey from sketch to finished piece... its calming and a lovely way to express myself.
